I thought my husband was fancy (and a little extra if I’m being honest) when we first started dating because he ate a lot of organic foods. Turns out he just preferred to steer clear of pesticides because of their known toxicity to humans. (Still, I thought that was a bit extra back then. My how I’ve changed. 🙃)

“Organic” gets flack from some people for being unnecessary. And then there are the people that refuse to buy/eat anything that’s not organic out of fear. The fact is that the conventional pesticides used in our country are banned in most others because of their toxicity. And yes, of course some are the cause of the big C word that I’m so sick of having loved ones affected by.

I’m sharing this info today from @environmentalworkinggroup’s new 2024 Shopper’s Guide for produce. This guide has helped me so much over the years. It’s creates a sense of empowerment when I go shopping - knowing that everything doesn’t *have* to be organic to be safe or nutritious… AND ALSO gives me a quick list of things that I definitely want to be organic to avoid as much exposure as I can.

I make this pork at least twice a month. It’s SO versatile! My favorite ways to eat are just like it is, straight out of the Instant Pot & as carnitas with some seasoning & butter, baked until the tips are a bit crispy. You can also add literally any sauce to it - teriyaki, Frank’s, BBQ… and it’s delish.

We went to Dollywood for the first time during our nephews fall break in October & planned a spring break trip before we got home. We love it!! It’s such a family-oriented, happy place and I think there is truly something for everyone there! Most of us have so much fun riding the big coasters over & over, the food is all great & decently priced, plus you get to bring nearly anything you want to the park so we take water bottles to refill for free & snacks on snacks too. We’re guaranteed to walk 20k steps a day too so that’s fun. 😅
